The 2014 East Alabama Living Showcase Homes are nearing completion and luring in the interest of Auburn lovers. The homes of Beaumont are a rare, Auburn find that fulfill the pursuit for desirable new construction in close proximity to the heart of Auburn, while maintaining quality architecture and materials that discerning home owners prefer.

“We are real pleased with how the streetscape is progressing,” shares Michael Dilworth, owner of Dilworth Development, Inc. and developer of Beaumont subdivision, “the homes are fulfilling our vision of encouraging restoration to Auburn’s inner loop.”

The two showcase homes represent diverse architectural eras, much like various homes surrounding the development. The Crenshaw, designed by Byron Smith of studiosmith Architecture, LLC, is an English Arts and Crafts style with a light, sheik and airy interior. The Dixie, designed by Cherri Pitts of Studio C Architecture and Interiors, shifts to a Craftsman style home with a French country, farm house feel.

Both homes offer distinctive design features and interior selections that are unique and complimentary of the architecture. As a custom home builder, Dilworth uses his expertise to create and enhance the structure, then he collaborates with Belinda Doyle of Bello Design to refine the interior, “I enjoy working with Belinda, because she makes sure the textures and colors work together with the structure,” says Dilworth, “She can ensure there is the right amount of leather and lace to give a home a good feel.”

The Dixie home is offers a bungalow, farmhouse look with an authentic octagon tile and dot mosaic. “Rather than a simple black and white combo, which is often done in a farmhouse look,” explains Doyle, “we incorporated a more organic stone that adds a twist to the style.” Also, in this home, is a checkerboard floor, adhering to the farmhouse style, but with a softer marble, rather than stark black and white, which according to Doyle, “is an elegant nod to the room.” Wood walls were added in various areas to add interest and texture to the home.

The Crenshaw home is a balance of rustic charm and elegance. The master bath tile is an unrefined organic-style tile laid in a herringbone pattern combined with a custom, hand painted cabinet, by local artist, Susi Grantham. The room is light and pleasing, yet natural with hints masculinity. The master bedroom has wood ceilings, and the guest bath showcases tile with a limestone appearance contrasted by a stainless steel deco band.

Both homes offer a total comfort package showcasing AGA appliances, spray foam insulation by Ecological Insulation, LLC and Rheem heating and cooling units by OASIS Heating & Air, LLC.

“Dilworth Development surpasses the industry standards when it comes to energy conservation in homes,” explains David Kahn, part owner of Ecological Insulation, LLC, “the majority of his homes will pass the current energy conservation code standards which in turn equals dollar savings for the home owner.” Eric Oas, owner of OASIS Heating & Air, LLC adds, “Dilworth installs good quality products. The Rheem systems installed in these homes were chosen due to the advantages of a local distributer, reliable warranty work and a company that honors their system for the customer which is important to us and to Michael.”

The showcase home tour will begin September 26th through October 5th at Beaumont. Tours of the Dixie and the Crenshaw homes are welcomed with a $5 donation to Four Corners Ministry. Four Corners is a ministry in which Dilworth has served through the years, “I believe in their work in Africa where they instill leadership in children for a positive change and encourage fair market and Christianity,” he explains.

While the showcase homes tour will promote and benefit Four Corners Ministry, the tour homes will also provide details and information regarding the various vendors and interior selections for each home. Mark your calendar and prepare to enjoy a visual tour that is sure to please the senses!
