Katie Crosby and Joe Hennington Davis were married on a clear summer’s day, set against the bucolic backdrop of Lazenby Farms. For the young couple, selecting the location was easy. The rustic, farm-style venue paired perfectly with their mutual adoration for the outdoors. The bride especially felt at home in the expansive, open-air setting, and thus opted to have the ceremony portion outside on the grounds with the reception to follow inside the barn.
Indeed, the setting could not have been more picturesque or pristine. The farm’s impressive wooden cross provided a striking backdrop, contrasting nicely with the delicate softness of the fresh floral accents surrounding the ceremony.
The bride is one of five children belonging to Dr. Dell and Stella Crosby of Auburn, Ala., and the last of four girls to be married. Interestingly, both she and the groom hail from large families, as he is one of six children belonging to Paul and Janet Davis of Crystal Springs, Miss. The bride was sure to include her sisters in her wedding party and received a special gift when her sister, Carla Crosby Ward, created an enchanting display of colorful French Macaroons for guests to enjoy during the reception.
The bridal party consisted of friends ranging as far back as childhood chums to more recent contacts from her time at Ole Miss. Upon college graduation, Katie left the country to coach gymnastics overseas in both Jordan and Egypt. However, it was not until her return to her native birthplace of Mississippi that she at last found her lasting love.
The young couple truly enjoyed an idyllic day while surrounded by friends and family and basking in the glow of their newly minted life together. After a relaxing honeymoon in Jamaica, the young couple now makes their home in Crystal Springs, Miss., where they will forever recall with fondness that special day on the farm.
