“This project is close to my heart,” shares Michael Dilworth, owner of Dilworth Development, Inc., “We spent several years collaborating with the original property owner to determine the correct way to work with this unique piece of land on Auburn’s inner loop, and I feel that what we are doing is going to compliment and enhance this area of Auburn.”
The subdivision is experiencing great movement as homes are beginning to sprout. With only 11 lots in the development, Dilworth Development, Inc. is thrilled to offer an additional showcase home to East Alabama Living readers in fall 2014. Created by Cherri Pitts of Studio C Architecture & Interiors in Birmingham, Ala., the Dixie is a craftsman home with a large, covered front porch and an open floor plan.
“The details in the Dixie are fueled by historic Craftsman style,” shares Pitts. “An open floor plan is always a win. When folks are cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the living room, you have the ability to use all parts of the house. And who doesn’t like a big porch in Alabama?”
Pitts explains that the plan is not formal and stuffy; rather, it is relaxed, low key and inviting to friends passing by. The Dixie plan encompasses what Dilworth and Pitts found to be a consistent pattern in appeal to homeowners in the Auburn community: welcoming, comfortable and attractive.
The interior finishes of each home will correspond with the overall architectural style.
